The Princeton Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for their First Annual Redemption 5K Fund Run, which will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2021. The run will begin at 10 a.m. and start at the Mountain Barn Restaurant located at 174 Worcester Rd. From there, the route will head down Worcester Rd, taking the Jillian Drive/Stagecoach Drive loop, continuing down Worcester Rd to the Hickory Drive/Oak Circle loops, and return up Worcester Rd to finish back at the Mountain Barn.
Scott Morris, Princeton Parks and Recreation Director, hopes the Fund Run becomes an annual community event, to help fundraise for Parks and Recreation programming, improvements and various events throughout the year. The plan for the proceeds from this year’s run, is to assist with winter renovations of the Needham Field House at Krashes Field.
The event welcomes anyone, from Princeton or beyond, whether you’re a runner, walker, or stroller pushing superstar. There are multiple options for registration, including individual participant, which includes a T-Shirt if you register prior to August 14, an 18-years-and-under rate, a family package, and a virtual participant option if you can’t join in person but want to show your support.
To register for the run, visit https://racewire.com/register.php?id=12217, or find the link by visiting the Princeton, MA Parks & Recreation Facebook page.
Post-race, the Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite all participants to gather at the Mountainside Bakery Café, located at 213 Mountain Road, to enjoy some entertainment and festivities, as well as food and beverage, which will include a special treat when racers show their bibs.
